Edward Piasta is the Co-Managing Partner of Piasta Walker Hagenbush, LLC, an Atlanta-based personal injury law firm. Ed maintains a nationwide trial practice representing individuals and families harmed by the negligence or wrongdoing of others. His practice includes premises liability, insurance bad faith, motor vehicle accidents, trucking accidents, commercial vehicle accidents, workplace injuries, and other serious personal injury and wrongful death matters. Ed also represents businesses in commercial disputes and business tort cases.
In 2018 and 2019, Ed and his partners earned consecutive Daily Report Top Verdict recognitions,
including the publication’s No. 1-ranked premises liability verdict in Georgia for 2018. The
defendant in that case had offered the plaintiffs nothing before trial. In 2022, their trial team
obtained a record $3.75 million verdict in Dooly County in a highly contested case.
More recently, Ed and his partners tried a negligent security case in which the insurer agreed during
trial to pay 250% of the available policy limits after making no offer for years. Other significant
recoveries include $20 million in a use-of-force case, $19 million and $10 million in premises
liability cases, $18 million in a products liability case, and $14 million in a pedestrian injury case.
Since 2021, recoveries obtained for Ed’s clients have totaled over $100 million.
Results-oriented, Ed has represented clients against some of the nation’s largest corporations and
trucking companies. His approach is to “swing hard, but always fairly” while conducting himself

Ed is regularly selected to the Georgia Super Lawyers list and was named to the 2027 Georgia
Super Lawyers Top 100.
In addition to his law practice, Ed serves in the military. He has served in the United States Army
Judge Advocate General’s Corps since 2006 and currently holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
During the Surge in Iraq, Ed earned the Bronze Star Medal for his service in support of combat
operations. He returned to Iraq in 2018 as general counsel to the 201st Regional Support Group,
supervising three legal offices across the country. Ed currently serves as Chief of Military Justice—
the senior prosecutor—for the Georgia Army National Guard.
In 2026, Ed graduated from the U.S. Army War College with a Master of Strategic Studies degree.
He was named a Distinguished Graduate, the institution’s highest level of academic distinction,
graduating in the top 10% of his class. His final academic evaluation noted that he “performed
significantly above peers on all measures.”
Ed is an elected member of the State Bar of Georgia Board of Governors and serves as Chair of its
Military-Veterans Law Section. He is also a graduate of Leadership Georgia, a statewide leadership
development program.
Ed earned his law degree, cum laude, from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 2005,
where he was a member of the McAuliffe Honor Society and graduated in the top 10% of his class.
He earned his undergraduate degree, cum laude, from Marquette University in 2002. Ed is licensed
to practice law in Georgia and California.
Ed is married to Kristie Edenfield Piasta, who is also an attorney with Piasta Walker Hagenbush,
LLC. They live in Atlanta with their two sons, William and Joseph.
